When women find their way to my studio, they’re often looking for more than beautiful images. They’re searching for themselves—sometimes for the first time in years. That’s why I started Helios Boudoir Photography: not just to take photographs, but to create space for women to feel seen, powerful, and profoundly connected to who they are.
I’ve always been drawn to the complexities of womanhood. I studied it in college, earning a degree in Women’s Studies, but it wasn’t until I lived through some of the hardest chapters of my own life that I truly understood the depth and urgency of this work.
Living with a neurological degenerative disorder changed everything. It gave me a new relationship with time, with my body, and with the concept of waiting. I no longer put things off for “someday.” I’ve learned to live fully now—to take the trip, make the memory, wear the outfit, take the photo. I don’t just say those things—I live them.
For more than a decade, I survived in a marriage that made me feel small. Divorce wasn’t easy, and single motherhood came with its own storm of challenges—but in the ashes of survival, I experienced a rebirth. Like so many of my clients, I found myself again. I chose to live with intention, to show my children what joy and self-respect truly look like, and to model what healthy love feels like.
And somewhere along the way, I manifested my own Prince Charming. I’m now engaged to the man of my dreams—proof that we are never too far gone, never too late, and always worthy of the love we desire.
When you walk into my studio, you’re not just another booking on the calendar. You’re a whole story waiting to be told—and I approach every session with that in mind.
You can expect:
Whether it’s your first time in front of the camera or your fifth, I approach every session like it’s sacred—because it is.
When a client walks into my studio, I actually want her to feel a little nervous. That discomfort? That’s the start of something powerful. Because when she walks out—shoulders back, head high, beaming with pride—she’s not just leaving with beautiful images. She’s leaving with accomplishment.
Doing something that scares you a little, something that stretches your sense of self—that’s where confidence is born. That’s where growth happens. That’s why so many women report on how empowering boudoir is. You can’t buy that feeling. You can’t fake it. But once you’ve lived it, it stays with you forever.
I don’t do this work to make women look sexy. I do it because every woman deserves to see herself as worthy, as whole, and as herself—without apology.
In a world that constantly tells women to shrink, I want to create space for them to take up more room. Emotionally, physically, creatively. Your body isn’t something to fix. It’s something to honor. It’s the most precious gift, these images- you’re priceless and wonderful and worthy.
There’s a common misconception that boudoir is all about sex appeal—but that barely scratches the surface. For most women, this isn’t about being sexy for someone else. Feeling or thinking you’re ‘sexy’ is not a pre-requisite. It’s about seeing yourselves in a new light—literally and figuratively. Boudoir offers a rare, transformative opportunity to view yourself the way your partner sees you: from angles you don’t normally experience, in poses that highlight your beauty, confidence, and presence in ways that everyday life never allows.
It’s a visual awakening. A woman used to catching glimpses of herself in bad bathroom lighting suddenly sees herself as radiant, powerful, and deeply worthy. That shift is what keeps me showing up for this work, over and over again.
The name Helios isn’t just a brand—it’s a philosophy. Helios comes from Greek mythology—Helios was the personification of the sun, driving his golden chariot across the sky each day. But it’s more than just a name. It’s a symbol.
Throughout history, two things have been worshipped universally: the sun and women. Our civilizations have depended on both. The Greeks, known for their mythological gods and goddesses, revered powerful women like Athena, Aphrodite, and Artemis—figures who embodied strength, wisdom, beauty, and independence.
Much like the sun, women are a life-giving force. They nurture, heal, and carry generations forward. Communities revolve around them. And just as the sun illuminates everything it touches, women have the power to light up the world around them.
Naming my studio Helios was my way of honoring that power—and of reminding every woman who walks through my doors that she is worthy of worship, too.
You might also meet my French Bulldog Dash- my four-legged bestie and occasional Helios Boudoir Photography studio assistant. With client permission, he sometimes tags along to sessions offering moral support, comic relief, and a few extremely photogenic test shots.
Dash also helps me trial new sets and lighting set ups (he’s very serious about his role). Around here, he’s earned the title of resident vibe-checker- and yes, he’s just as charming as he sounds.
Boudoir is so much more than beautiful lighting and lingerie. It’s about shedding the noise, the expectations, and the narratives that have kept you small—and stepping fully into your own radiance. I don’t do this work because it’s glamorous. I do it because it’s necessary. Because every woman deserves to feel seen, powerful, and completely herself.
Helios Boudoir Photography, the idea and mission, was built for women like you—women on the cusp of transformation, women looking to reconnect, celebrate, or simply remember who they are. And if you’re feeling the pull… maybe it’s time.
If something here stirred something in you, trust that. You don’t need to have it all figured out—you just need to be open to what’s possible.
